Welcome to the department of Media Studies and Journalism (MSJ) of United International University (UIU). The present era is significantly marked with the rise of diverse media which continuously impacts dynamics of human communication.

We are experiencing that the traditional mainstream news media are being shifted to the newly emerged digital and social media platforms to a larger extent. This shifting has an impact on the mass media as well as diverse organizations including the government, non-government, semi-government and autonomous. The scope of communication has extended many folds in the corporates, multinational companies, NGOs, bank and financial institutions, export-import agencies and so on. Management of digital and social media has become an indispensable part for many organizations. In order to cope with these recent transformations, demand for skilled human resources in communication and media sector is critical. Considering this demand of the day, the Department of Media Studies and Journalism (MSJ) has become one of the core areas of studies in the United International University (UIU).
